Southwest SWORD Newsletter A ministry of the Church of God 7th day

September 2006

Sabbath was ushered in by breakfast and worship service followed by a sermon by brother Peter Young. Fellowship abounded and excellent meals were served through out the camp.

The sounds of drills and sawing started early the next morning and could be heard till very late. Sunday was a work day where many joined in teamwork to build many bunk beds from scratch. Work started early and ended late after a break that included worship service and a sermon from brother Aaron Orr (and lunch and dinner of course). Many got to not only meet, but bond together in service. I can still hear the calls of busy brothers jokingly yelling "FLIP! BOARD! SCREW!"

The theme of the camp revolved around serving, as unto the Lord...not just when it's convenient but when it's inconvenient. Some churches represented at the retreat were Claremore(OK), Tulsa(OK), Oklahoma City(OK), Houston (TX), Grand Prairie(TX), San Antonio(TX), Conroe (TX) & Japser (AR)
